Why is it that Rabbi David Feinstein seems to be persona non grata in the Chareidi world?
It cannot be an accident that the Posek Hador's son, about whom I have heard first-hand testimony regarding his abilities as a poseik and lamdan and yoeitz, wouldn't have some role to play in Tzorchei Tzibbur unless there was some directed effort to exclude him.
So what's going on?
Posted by Yehupitz at June 28, 2004 07:47 PMRe Reb Dovid F. - There is no shortage of Rabbis not taken seriously in the Charedi world. What amuses me is the defense - they don't have to be taken seriously because they're not Gedolim. And how do we know they're not Gedolim? Simple - because they're not on the Moetzes of Gedolim!
The dumbness of this argument is stunning, but I've heard it many times.
Re Canada - they blew it.
Re Federation - They do a lot of good. I'm a contributor. There;s a bit of a cycle here. The Frummies don't support them because supposedly, they don't support the frummies. Who started - who cares? Here in Cleveland the frummies also don't give them anything, but the mainstream Orthodox does. That's b/c the Hebrew Academy, the standard school, gets over 7 figures from them yearly.
Re the shul board - be careful. If they hear about you blogging this way, you could be terminated.
Re the comments section -totally disagree. All comments should be welcome.

I think the damage those conservative facists were going to do to our country is much worse than anything the Liberals might do. Besides, you can trust the Liberals, and you can admire the Liberals - they work hard and they care. They are not just about getting rich and richer like the Tories are.
"fascists". To say that demonstrates that you don't even know what fascism is!
Posted by: yehupitz at July 1, 2004 07:21 PMYeah, that was just a bit of invective to get things rolling. They aren't fascist.
