Confession: I used to get so insulted at the nasty comments left by liberals on my political posts. Now, after the most recent nasty comment re: Arafat's death, I had an epiphany. These condescending comments are of the same nature and style as the obnoxious articles written by so many Kerry supporters in the aftermath of this year's election.
I referenced Dowd and Smiley. And I now realize that this haughty intolerance is their style. I'm thinking that this is why they are known as "elitists", even though those on the other side might be eating the more expensive caviar.
I still do not understand the mechanics of why Liberals are more intolerant than conservatives. I read an article about it recently, but alas, the answer did not satisfy me. One would expect conservatives to be angrier and more holier-than-thou, wouldn't you? But look at the right vs left styles in the blogoshpere as well as the FNC vs the Other MSM venues.
