It's been a very long time. I only want to say two things now:
1) I am going through Gehinnom right now. The lay leadership of Kehilat Anshei Yehupitz, whom I encouraged into taking positions of leadership after I brought them into the shul, has turned on me. It's ugly. I have enough support to remain here. But these -----Tzaddikim know that even though they can't fire me and that they will be forced to renew my contract, they can make my life increasingly unpleasant. I have been too preoccupied to blog about it.
2) I wish to highly recommend The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris. TR was a fascinating man. And Edmund Morris is an excellent writer. It is unfortunate that the book is no longer available in hardcover. I really don't like buying paperback books.
